Colosseum
It was the largest and oldest amphitheater in the world, which was built with greatest Roman architecture. It was built in around 70 - 80 AD. It could hold 50,000 to 80,000 people. It was used for the gladiatorial contests. It was later reused for such purposes as housing, workshops, quarters for a religious order, and a Christian shrine.
We may understand the situations how it was at that time by seeing the following images.
