Colosseum

          It was the largest and oldest amphitheater in the world, which was built with greatest Roman architecture. It was built in around 70 - 80 AD. It could hold 50,000 to 80,000 people.It was used for the gladiatorial contests. It was later reused for such purposes as housing, workshops, quarters for a religious order, and a Christian shrine.
         We may understand the situations how it was at that time by seeing the following images.


               
Great to see such an oldest theater.
